Man charged with Saline home invasion, unarmed robbery close to a plea deal with Washtenaw County prosecutors

By Kyle Feldscher

A man accused of breaking into a Saline apartment to steal a safe is close to a plea deal and will have his case delayed while lawyers work out the details.

Joshua Morris was in Judge Archie Brown’s court Wednesday for a pretrial hearing, but his attorney, Steve Tramontin, said he was close to reaching an agreement with county prosecutors.

Morris is charged with two counts of first-degree home invasion, one count of safe breaking and a count of unarmed robbery. Morris’ trial was originally set to begin on Sept. 12, but now he will return to court Sept. 7.

Police say Andrew Wszolek let Morris into an acquaintance’s apartment on Nov. 5 on the 800 block of Valley Circle Drive and held the acquaintance down while Wszolek and another intruder ripped a bolted safe from the wall.

Morris was arrested in December at his parents’ home in Ann Arbor by Washtenaw County Sheriff’s investigators, who assisted Saline police with the case.
