A Superior Township resident called police to report someone kicking the front door and attempting to break into the home Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 1800 block of Hamlet Drive for a report of someone attempting to kick in the front door of a home while a resident was home, police said.
When deputies arrived, the suspect had already left the scene, according to police. Deputies believe the suspect realized someone was at the home and fled the area.
No property was stolen and the suspect never entered the home.
Police are still looking for information on the would-be intruder. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.
